Once Upon a Time... a young Texan boy picked up a guitar with a dream in his heart and a song on his lips. His journey has taken him from one end of the United States to the other, playing concert venues large and small; house concerts and stadiums; in subways, wineries and art houses. Playing music that is both insightful and emotional; gut-wrenching and inspiring, fans of Michael Shelton are treated to a visceral experienced laced with well-placed lyrics and aurally captivating melodies.
Influenced by the such diverse artists as Elliott Smith, the Cure, and Leonard Cohen, Shelton’s music has morphed into a delicate and passionate balance of acousti-pop themes, indie-rock fortitude, and jazz phrasing. His music is a captivating and passionate escape from monotony into a world where possibilities are endless, heartbreak is random, and that redemption found in the beauty around us is evident with every waking breath.
After releasing his first solo album in 2004, and numerous live albums, Michael has performed at such venues as the Roxy and the Lizard Lounge in Hollywood CA, Trees and Green Room in Dallas TX, the Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco CA, and countless breweries, wineries, resorts, festivals, and private events across the United States.
